Jacob Underhill wanted more for his birthday than presents. He wanted to give back. Instead of asking for presents, he asked his friends and fellow students to donate sporting equipment for Kick For Christ in lieu of buying presents for him.

Jacob writes:

My parents keep telling me that I’m very lucky. After hearing Leo tell his story, I kind of understand what that means. At my school,

we talk about stewardship and giving back. I decided one way I could do this is to collect items for Leo’s charity instead of asking for birthday presents. It makes me feel good to know I might be helping some other kids be happy. I’m also hoping other kids will carry on my example and do the same thing. For example, after my school counselor found out what I did, my school decided to collect items as their spring fundraiser. Now my whole school will be collecting items that will help others.

Items Jacob has collected...

Thank you Jacob for your donations, and the fine example of how Christ is working through us! Your donations will go far in giving the youth of Liberia happiness and an avenue of reducing the stress of everyday life.

I was relieved to find out today that we are one step closer to being a registered non-profit corporation. The State of Missouri accepted our paperwork! So now it is on to the IRS for not-for-profit approval!

Why is this important?

Our goal is to be able to allow any and all donations to Kick For Christ to be tax deductible. We have had many approach us about providing monetary donations to assist with the shipping costs. Shipping a cargo container to West Africa isn’t the cheapest thing in the world, and we have been absolutely blessed by the support we have received thus far. So, we want to at least do that for those that donate. We are starting from humble beginnings, and as we grow we’d like to give back even more.

So, if you have donated to us, we thank you!
